Dignitas 2014 Release
Join us as we release Dignitas Vintage 2014 — an evening shared with Mankovsky Gallery, whose work in art mirrors our own in champagne.
Dignitas is named in honor of Le Grand-Père. In the late 1970s, Joseph Ruscon - grandfather of our founder Kristofer - sat at a blind tasting and chose, without knowing it, a champagne made by the Vallois family in Bergères-lès-Vertus. He returned to it for the rest of his life. Decades later, his grandson would start HATT et SÖNER in partnership with the Vallois family. Dignitas is the bottle that carries that story.
A Blanc de Blancs from the 2014 vintage: 80% Oger (grand cru) and 20% Vertus (premier cru) Chardonnay. Steel-tank fermentation, no malolactic, nine years on the lees. Yellow gold in the glass, with a fine and persistent mousse. Dried apricot and butter on the nose; brioche, caramel, and orchard fruit on the palate. Refined and powerful at once. Decanter awarded it 94 points; Falstaff and Gault & Millau, 92.
Mankovsky Gallery represents international artists from a base in Sweden, bringing collectors and creators into the same room. Like a vintage champagne, the gallery is built on integrity, relevance, and patience. Tonight's selection includes original works and limited editions across painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media.
